EEK!!! Can you actually believe I’ve survived another year in business?!

It feels so surreal. Every day I am thankful for what I have and have achieved. I’m sitting now just writing this looking around the studio with the biggest smile on my face. It hasn’t been easy, nothing in life is. The studio flooded, I cried, Florence was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, I cried! I cried hard! I had to really ask God for help in keeping me strong, in keeping my faith, in not letting me go astray. Sometimes life throws you a curve ball and it is up to us in how we deal with zed curve ball. I decided to just put my big girl pants on and just get on with it. Tough as it is being self employed sometimes, the positives totally out weight the negatives. A huge thank you has to go out to each and everyone of you who truly believed in me and my vision. Wanting to have a little haven for you and your hair has always been my dream. A dream, if I’m honest never thought would happen. I say this as my anxiety after having Florence went through the roof! My self confidence took a huge hit! I’m sure all working mummies out there have felt the same at some point in your life. It was very hard juggling that work life balance. This little blog is just to share my feeling with you all. We are never alone.

Starting out as Lynette Murray Hair was a big step in itself and I truly believe the universe will always have your back if you let God in. My unit is A1;14 so this is where the name Studio A114 came from. Rebranding and expanding is always nervous but if you don’t try, you’ll never know! Studio A114 is now my little space where all things ethically made hangout. After deciding to go out on my own I had to do my best to make it work. I didn’t want to be another failure. (who does?)

After a whole lot of soul searching and google searching later, (love a good google search me) I now only offer a cruelty free hair service throughout my studio and would never go back. What we put on our skin not only affects our health but the world we live in too. If I wouldn’t use it on own skin, I sure as hell ain’t putting it on yours.

From recycling in the studio to bringing home tea bags etc to pop in my brown bin, it all helps. I set up two bins in work, one for regular rubbish and one for all things recyclable. Slowly through change and educating ourselves I truly believe that if ALL businesses were to do the same it could really make a difference.
